Taking place November 27 and November 28, the return of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup will bring the fastest women’s technical alpine skiers in the world ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics together with music, events, camaraderie and more. U.S. Ski & Snowboard, along with the Canadian Ski Association, Killington and Beaver Creek Resorts, and the International Ski Federation have announced that the North American FIS Audi World Cup Alpine Ski Races will not be held this season.

Vermont’s Killington Resort and U.S. Ski & Snowboard have announced a two-year agreement to host the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. Killington’s place on the 2019 World Cup calendar has been confirmed by the International Ski Federation (FIS). HomeLight will be the title sponsor for the next World Cup at Killington, which will take place November 30 - December 1, 2019, Thanksgiving weekend.

Eastern ski racing fans have had their wish granted as Killington Resort has announced the return of the FIS World Cup to Vermont over Thanksgiving weekend for the next two years.

UPDATE (March 1): Travis Ganong, who 24 hours earlier stamped the first Audi FIS Alpine World Cup top three of his career, finished fourth Saturday, a mere .05 from a second downhill podium in Kvitfjell.

It didn’t take long for the USA’s teen star Mikaela Shiffrin from Eagle-Vail, Colo. to make it clear her stunning performances last winner were no fluke. Shiffrin, 18, dominated the opening World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland Saturday with a wire-to-wire victory.

What was described as a tactically perfect run in the weather-shortened super G at St. Moritz, Switzerland brought American Lindsey Vonn her 57th Audi World Cup victory – her fourth this season. 

Slovenia’s Tina Maze won her second consecutive giant slalom of the season as the Winternationals at Aspen, Colo. jumped off Saturday. American Lindsey Vonn returned to the race course after a 3-day hospitalization last week and finished 21st.

The best lady ski racers in the world are in Aspen, Colo. for the post-Thanksgiving opening of North American leg of the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup. The Nature Valley Aspen Winternationals will be run Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 and 25.

The Audi FIS Alpine World Cup season headed into the gates in Soelden, Austria, but it was not a memorable start for American ladies. That all turned around, however, when the men took the field. Ted Ligety won by an historic 2.75 margin.
