2019 Snowboard, Freestyle And Free Ski World Championships To Showcase New Winter Olympic Sports

The IOC has announced that seven new winter sports will be incorporated into the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China. Four of these sports are International Ski Federation (FIS) events that will be on show at the 2019 Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships taking place in Utah in February 2019.

The Norwegian champion known for his impressive coif, impeccable ski technique and eponymous lodge passed away quietly at his Park City home Sunday, December 27, 2015, surrounded by family. He was 88 years old.

Snowboard Big Air, Alpine Team Event Added to 2018 Olympics; U.S. World Cup Stops Set

Big Air in KoreaBig air snowboarding and an alpine team event were approved the International Olympic Committee (IOC) this week as new event inclusions for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association had been among nations lobbying for inclusion of big air. U.S. World Cup stops were released by the F.I.S. as well.
