Hallelujah! After a wild weather week, Mother Nature is about to chill out...literally. Following hurricane remnants in the East and a blizzard in the Plains, the first cold snap of the season will deliver a much needed jolt to kickstart ski season.

This winter, large ski resorts owned by parent companies have been uber crowded. Because Vail resorts decided to decrease their season pass price by 20%, people from across the world flocked to the mountains. According to Vail Resorts’ annual report, the company sold 67% more epic passes in 2021 compared to 2020. 

Autumn in Vermont is hard to beat. Fall foliage, brewfests and flannels make for the quintessential New England experience. Many of Vermont's ski areas will be hosting brewfests and Octoberfests as well as providing scenic chairlift rides for leaf peeping.

Vermont’s Bolton Valley returns to its roots as a group of local investors led by founder Ralph DesLauriers and his son, Evan DesLauriers, closed Friday on the purchase of the resort.

Known as the snowiest month of the season, March brings heaps of snow and warmer temperatures for skiers and riders in Vermont. Add to that a mix of great deals and events at Vermont’s mountains and March is sure to be a month that you don’t want to miss. 

Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30-Sept. 2) means one very important thing to skiers and snowboarders: sales. There will be a wide number of mountain and cityside ski and sports shops hosting sales on equipment, clothing, and accessories.
