Vail Resorts has announced a 20% decrease in their Epic season passes for the 2021-22 ski season, and that also includes their Epic local passes at all their Midwest ski areas. A little bit of good news for those skiers that like to mainly ski local.

They have also announced that its reservation system, related to the Covid crisis, that acquired all skiers to reserve a pass before showing up at the local ski hill is a thing of the past, as long as the Covid outbreak is controlled.

Of course for those Heartland skiers that may enjoy taking a western or eastern ski trip this coming season, there is the Epic Local Pass. It allows you to ski your local area all season long and also offers you unlimited access to all Vail's Midwest ski areas as well as 12 eastern and four western resorts owned by Vail Resort. It's now priced at $583 for the season down from $729 last season. If you skied for 40 days next season your lift ticket will be under $15 per day.

The good news for those that just like to hit the local ski hill all winter long your season pass is also dropping by 20%. That ski pass also offers you unlimited half-price lift tickets at eight of their western ski resorts and three in the east in case you get itchy feet to travel a little further.

The individual Midwest adult Epic pass for Snow Creek in Missouri and Paoli Peaks in Indiana drops to $255 for the season, $279 for the Ohio Pass that includes Mad River Mountain, Boston Mills/Brandywine, and Alpine Valley, $303 for Hidden Valley, near St. Louis, $343 for Wilmot just north of Chicago, $383 for Afton Alps in the Twin Cities, and $431 for Mt. Brighton near Detroit.
