Three Ohio ski areas, Boston Mills/Brandywine, Mad River Mountain and Snow Trails, and Perfect North Slopes in southern Indiana are hosting some fun spring events starting Feb. 23 and rolling into March.
Snow Trails is holding their 53rd annual Ski Carnival Feb. 23-24. Saturday's events include races, a Yard Sale Pick-Up in the tubing park, and the always popular bikini races starting at 3 p.m.
Live entertainment with Shucking Bubba begins in the Snowflake Loft at 9 p.m. Sunday is the Giant Slalom Race, costume contest, Couples Fun Race, the Cardboard Creation Classic in the tubing park, and the Slush Cup, which normally draws huge galleries. Dress in costume and you receive a lift ticket voucher for a future visit.
Perfect North, Sochi Olympic medal winner Nick Goepper’s home hill, is hosting its annual Spring Carnival Sunday, March 2, with lots of family events and a rail jam at 4:30 p.m.
Mad River Mountain hosts it’s popular spectator event the Cardboard Classic Saturday, March 8, from noon-3 p.m. Last year’s event was so popular they are expanding the categories and prizes this year. Their Sunday Special, 4-9:30 p.m., offers a lift ticket and rental for $40 and $30 for the lift ticket only.
Boston Mills holds its Winter Carnival, Saturday, March 8. Filled with events and competitions that appeal to a wide audience, it’s as much fun for spectators as participants. A couple of the better spectator events are the Costume Contest and the Slosh Pit.
