Montana Ski Areas Have Season Pass Price Increases Coming; Act Now
Five top Montana ski areas have season pass price increases coming over the next few weeks. Now is the time to act if you’re thinking of purchasing a season pass before prices increases start taking place.
Red Lodge Mountain Resort in southern Montana, popular with Heartland skiers from the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Iowa, is offering an adult season pass for $499 through Oct. 22. A senior pass (70+) is $159 and a junior pass (13-18), purchased at the same time as an adult pass, is $319. Pass holders ski and ride free at California’s Homewood Mountain and also get five free days at Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Big Sky Resort is offering its best prices for their Frequent Sky Card, Powder Pak and season passes through this coming Sunday, Sept. 30. Some will go up by $400 Oct. 1. The Frequent Sky Card, which allows 14 free days of skiing and riding Nov. 26-Dec. 2 and April 8-14, 2013, and half-price week Jan. 7-13, 2013, is now $49. It also offers you $20 off the regular season window rate. The Powder Pak is currently $789 and goes up to $839 Oct. 1. It gives you ten transferable vouchers valid any day of the season. You pick up your lift ticket at the window with the voucher. The adult Gold Unlimited Season Pass, currently $999, goes up to $1,399 Oct 1, and the Silver Midweek Pass, good Monday through Thursday, now $749 will go up by $100 on the above date.
The Biggest Skiing in America Season Pass, which allows access between Big Sky and neighboring Moonlight Basin, is currently on sale for $1,628 and goes up to $1,986 Oct. 1. The two offer over 5,000-acres of downhill terrain, 4,350 feet of vertical, 27 lifts, and over 220 trails.
Moonlight Basin adult season passes, currently $599, will be going up Oct. 1. College and junior (11-17) passes are $399. All passes will be going up in price by $50 each. A Value Card is $59 and gives you your first day on the slopes free and April 8-14, 2013 free. Take $10 off an adult full day lift ticket the rest of the season, and ski/ride for just $40 on the second Sunday of each month December through March.
Bridger Bowl lift tickets are on sale through Oct. 9. Adult and junior (13-18) season passes will go up $100 each after that date. Currently they are $580 and $330 respectively. Bridger will be celebrating being 58 years old this coming season. Stay tuned for lots of specials and celebrations throughout the winter.
Discovery Ski Area, near Missoula, is currently offering adult season passes for $480 through Sept. 30. Adult weekday, college, and teen passes are $360. All passes will be going up in price Oct. 1.
Showdown, Montana’s oldest ski area, has its Multiple Visit Passes on sale through the end of the month. The Ten Time pass is currently $305 and goes up to $340 Oct. 1, and the Five Time pass is now $165 going up to $185. The passes are good anytime throughout the year. An adult season pass is $480, a junior pass (11-12) is $280, and a student pass (junior high or high school ID required) is $320. Some will be going up by $50 on the above date.
