Central Wisconsin Ski Resorts Hosting Family Weekends, Getaways
Granite Peak is hosting Family Festival Weekend Packages starting this weekend Jan. 10-12, Feb. 7-9, and March 7-9. The package, which starts from $525 for a family of four, includes two nights lodging, two day lift tickets, ski and snowboard rental for the entire family, horse drawn wagon rides, a Saturday night bonfire and fireworks display.
There’s something for all family members. New beginner terrain and a conveyor lift were recently added, which more than doubled the beginner terrain. An easier mogul field and rollers were added as a progression park, and an Enchanted Forest Trail with animal figures is available for little skiers and riders. Rocky chutes on the upper mountain attract expert skiers. Scenic trails, some stretching a mile-and-a-half in length, meander down the mountainside. .
With two high-speed lifts, nearly 80 trails and a 700-foot vertical drop, it’s big time skiing and riding for the Heartland.
Devil’s Head, who attracts bus loads of Chicago skiers and riders, appropriately offers the Chicagoland Express Package; and you don’t have to be from the Windy City to take advantage of it. The package, which starts from $298 per person, based on double occupancy, includes Friday and Saturday night lodging, a large three-topping pizza upon arrival Friday night, lift tickets, breakfast or lunch each day and dinner in the resort’s Cornucopia Room Saturday night.
Located in the scenic and rugged Baraboo Highlands Devil’s Head offers a 500-foot vertical, nine lifts, over 30 tree-lined trails cut through rocky terrain, and some of the longest beginner runs in the Badger State.

The 460-foot ski hill offers 36 trails, four terrain parks and tubing lanes. Cascade’s bump runs are legendary. Beginners have their own dedicated area compete with a carpet lift, chairlifts and a starter terrain park with small features. It’s a complete family area.
