Skiing Weatherman: East Coast Missed Out Again; Southwest Sees More Snowfall

What a winter! Even when a tremendously strong upper level trough comes together - as was the case this weekend - it happened too far off the eastern seaboard, and just light snow fell in the eastern United States.
That miss was certainly been consistent with what has transpired this winter. The pattern has changed from the one that dominated in December and much of January, and it has turned colder overall with several snow producers (light) showing up in the past couple of weeks, but because we aren't seeing a blocking pattern lock in over the north Atlantic, any shot of cold air continues to be of the hit and run variety.
Although we missed out on a major snow producer this weekend, the pattern hasn't fired all its' bullets yet, and there will be at least a couple of rounds of snow for interior sections of the Midwest and East this week, and the idea of a larger event is on the table once again ... Read More...
