Hannah Kearney isn’t one to chase records. When she passed Donna Weinbrecht’s mark of eight straight moguls wins there was no celebration. And last week she wasn’t even aware of eclipsing the great Swiss Conny Kissling’s overall mark of ten straight. But she couldn’t help but smile.

The grade on the Alpe Cermis alpine hill in the Italian Dolomites reaches nearly 30 percent. That's one thing for an alpine skier going down. It's quite another for a cross country skier going up.
It's been a stunning start to the season across all sports. But last week it was about the future. USSA events at Copper Mountain, Steamboat, and the Utah Olympic Park.

Lindsey Jacobellis didn't grow up in Telluride, Colo. But her victory Friday in the USANA Snowboardcross Cup was like winning in her hometown. Over the past three years, the Telluride resort and community have welcomed U.S. Snowboarding's SBX riders for an annual 10-day camp and World Cup.
Nick Baumgartner came in third for the men. Baumgartner and Jonathan Cheever took second in the team SBX event and Jacobellis and Callan Cythlook-Sifsof took third for the women.

More than 250 athletes from over 20 nations took to the massive 22-foot halfpipe at Copper Mountain to kickoff the winter action sports season with the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix. It marked the opening of the 16th season and showcased the full evolution of winter sports from that day in Decemer 1996 at Sugarloaf.
